To set up log in to your account.
First, to use URL forwarding &/ masking, please ensure you are using Cosmotown's nameservers per the below.
To change your nameservers:
Log in to your account
Click Domains tab (on the left hand side)
Click on the domain(s) you wish to change (You can do a bulk edit, by clicking the check box at the top of your domain(s) next to "Domain"
Click on the Manage Domains, drop down menu at the top
Click on Domain NameServers
Enter our new Cosmotown nameservers are:
dns1.cosmotown.com
dns2.cosmotown.com
dns3.cosmotown.com
dns4.cosmotown.com
Scroll down and click the green Save Button
Second, enroll in URL Forwarding:
Click on Domains tab on the left hand side
Click on the domains you want to forward
Click Manage Domains Drop Down Menu at the top of the Screen
Click URL Forwarding
The first box titled Pointing to: Enter the url you wish to forward to
The next box:
-Select Masked URL Forwarding if you want your purchased domain name to show in the url box
** PLEASE NOTE THAT WEBSITES LIKE FACEBOOK AND LINKEDIN DO NOT ALLOW MASKED FORWARDING. YOU MUST CHOOSE THE REDIRECT OPTION TO FORWARD YOUR DOMAINS TO YOUR FACEBOOK OR LINKEDIN ACCOUNT.
** PLEASE NOT IN ORDER FOR THE URL FORWARDING TO WORK. THE DEFAULT A RECORD FOR COSMOTOWN'S LANDING PAGE MUST NOT BE DELETED FROM THE DNS (ZONE FILE) RECORDS.
-Select Redirect URL Forwarding if you want the forwarded domain to show in the url box
Page Title: This can be anything you wish. It will appear on the tab of your internet browser
Click the green Submit button

If we use URL Forwarding is this a true 301 redirect?

We responded to you via email a couple weeks ago, but for the benefit of others, I'm posting the answer to the forum.
Our URL Forwarding is not a 301 redirect, it will be a meta refresh (html) redirect. We currently do not support 301 redirects.
How long does this take to go into affect? I followed the directions, and it is not forwarding.
It still redirects to cosmotown page....

This can take anywhere from 24-72 hours to take affect, if entered properly. This is because different Internet Service Providers update their caches at different times.
After making any DNS changes, it's always a good idea to delete your internet browser's cache. Otherwise, you may access a cached version of the website.

I have set it for more than 3 days,but still not working.
