Why can't I add multiple years to my domain transfer? I can only select one year

Dear Cosmotown Customer,

We only accept domain transfers on a one year basis.  That is why you are unable to add more than one year to a domain transfer at the time of checkout.

However, you can wait for the transfer process to complete.  Once the domain can be seen and managed in your Cosmotown account, you can renew it for multiple years.

Typically, the price difference between that method and a straight multi-year registration is minimal.

For example:

For a 5 year .com registration the total price is $41.95

For a 1 year .com transfer ($8.99) + 4 year .com renewal ($33.96) the total price is $42.95

So, the difference is $1

To Renew your domain name:

Log in to your account

Click on the Domains tab on the left

Check the box next to the domain name (or you can search for it by clicking the blue Search drop down menu at the top)

Click on the blue Renew drop down menu

Select the number of years

This will add the renewal to your cart

Click on the Cart icon on the upper right hand corner of your screen

Check out as usual

Please note that domains are only allowed to be registered for a total of 10 years at any given time.  So, if you have 2 years left on your existing registration, you will only be allowed to renew for 8 years or less.
